• Business Week published a survey on texting which revealed 81 percent of Americans text regularly, with over six billion texts sent daily. It was 30 years ago today in 1992 when the first text message was sent. An electronic engineer texted Merry Christmas, and then drove over an embankment.

• Tony Romo called the game for CBS when the Cincinnati Bengals hosted the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s just as good in the booth as he was on the field. During a timeout, Tony tossed a bag of peanuts to the producer and the director intercepted it and returned it all the way to the peanut vendor.

• Los Angeles police reported that South Central L.A. gangs are engaged in a wave of home robberies throughout the wealthy West Side section of the city. I don’t need a burglar alarm to stay safe. Every night I wear a ski mask to bed, so if there’s a home invasion the intruders will think I’m part of the team.
