Leslie “Les” Lewis, age 96, was reunited with his wife, Patsy, on September 7, 2022. Les served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and soon after met Patsy. They were married in June of 1947 in Glendale,

Arizona and enjoyed 70 years of marriage before her passing in 2017. While in Glendale, Les served as a volunteer fire fighter for the city.

Les and Patsy moved to Yuma in 1961, where Les soon continued his legacy of service to the community. He served on the Yuma County Fair Board for several years. He was a founding member of the Caballeros de Yuma, where he worked tirelessly on events such as the San Diego Padres Spring Training games, Midnight at the Oasis, the annual Holiday Tower Lighting Celebration, and the Colorado River Crossing Balloon Festival. He and his trusty Makita put down many dance floors for Caballeros events. He remained an active member until his passing as the last of the original 20 members. Les served on the Yuma County Airport Authority from its beginning in 1981 until 2006. He served seven years as President. He was a past member of Rotary Clubs International and a lifetime member of the Elks.

Les was an avid golfer and a member of Yuma Golf & Country Club, where he served as President for one year.

He was an active member of Morningside Southern Baptist Church from 1961 until his passing and served as a Deacon.

In the fall of 1964, Les and his partners formed Citizens Title & Trust, for which Les served as company President until his retirement in 1982.

Les is survived by his daughters, Marla Lewis and Gayla (Dale) Bourelle; grandchildren Hillary (Robert) Martin, Heather Kearns (Scott Paper), Jennifer (Travis) Woodbridge, Jeramy (Michele) Van Horn, Kari (Tim) Baker, Chad (Meredith) Bourelle, Troy (Maureen) Van Horn, Tyanna (Tommy) Thomas, and Mallory (Tyler) Mills; 18 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. Barry Lindsey, Leslie's longtime friend, was able to take his precious pup, Lacy, as his own.

There will be a Memorial Service on October 22, 2022, Morningside Baptist Church at 1:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life hosted by Caballeros de Yuma at The Yuma Golf and Country Club.
