Blood red moon

A look at Sunday night’s total lunar eclipse, as seen from the backyard of a home in the Yuma Valley at 9:26 p.m. A total lunar eclipse happens when Earth passes directly between the moon and sun, and casts a shadow on the moon. The red color is the result of the reflected red and orange hues of Earth’s sunsets and sunrises. Sunday’s eclipse, according to www.space. com, “took place during the so-called Flower Moon, the May full moon, named as it coincides with the spring blooming season in America. It was also a supermoon, making it the Super Flower Blood Moon of May 2022.”
