Pen-pricks

• The New York Post reports Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak will launch his own private space company. He’ll follow Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Sir Richard Branson up to the stars. Good Lord, how bad have things gotten when four of the richest men in the world want to get the hell out of here?

• Jay Leno will host a remake of the classic TV quiz show You Bet Your Life on Fox Network in late night. The great stand-up comic whom I have admired for 45 years bowed to the cancel culture and Jay promised he will no longer tell jokes that are offensive. His new act is 32 seconds long.

• The New York Times cited the latest pandemic statistics showing 83 percent of all the new Covid cases are the Delta variant. The CDC said that the first symptom of the Delta variant is loss of taste. If that’s true then looking back on my jokes I’d say I’ve been infected for years.

• President Biden’s call for Americans who have been vaccinated for Covid to get booster shots resulted in two FDA officials resigning in disagreement. I like to play it safe. I went to CVS to get my booster shot Tuesday and slipped the nurse a $20 to give me the shot without the tracking chip.
