CHAMBER NEWS

By Kimberly Kahl, Executive Director, Yuma County Chamber of Commerce

BY KIMBERLY KAHL, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

IDON’T KNOW ABOUT you, but I am really looking forward to 2022. It will be my first full year of being able to do events in the Yuma County community.

While the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce is well-known for our amazing events, they are more than just fun. Our events bring together decision makers for local businesses in order to create a network of support and opportunity. It is not uncommon for our members to meet their next client at a mixer or open the door for business growth through someone they met at a committee meeting.

In addition, our events provide financial support for the Chamber to advocate on behalf of the local business community in legislation and other governmental affairs. Chamber staff and board members regularly meet with elected officials including a monthly Legislative Committee meeting attended by local Mayors, City Council Members, County Supervisors, Arizona State Legislators, and the staff of our U.S. Senators and Representatives. This allows the Chamber to not only stay informed of pending legislation and regulations that could affect the business community but also to lobby to bring about change.

We’d love to have you join us this year for any or all of our events. As you can see from our calendar, we have many, many events planned. I do hope to see you there.
