Juan was an individual state champion in 2020 after beating Bryce Bernard, of Valley Vista, in the 126-pound title match at the AIA Division I state tournament. His efforts helped Cibola earn a second-place team finish in Division I at state. Juan finished the season 43-5 overall and went 8-0 against local competition.
