The lowdown:

Dylan, who was the 2A Salt Region Defensive Player of the Year, was all over the place defensively for the Rams. In his final season, Dylan tallied 140 total tackles, nine interceptions and four sacks. Dylan’s efforts on both sides of the ball helped lead the Rams to the 2A state playoffs for the first time since 2008.

Coach Gary Mauldin:

“Dylan was our best defensive leader this year. The maturity and leadership he has shown on the field proved the team made the right decision when he was unanimously voted team captain. His intensity for the game was only equaled by his great sense of humor. He’s the type of kid that made a coach love the game again. He’s one of the best safeties I’ve seen in high school football in my coaching career.”
