In an effort to continue to improve the availability and accessibility of medical services, Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. has established a number of community based programs through services in the regional are of Yuma, La Paz and Mohave Counties.

“Nuestros Niños” Community Outreach Census and Immunization Campaign

A project designed to improve and address the issues of availability, accessibility of health care and the well being of children. “Nuestros Niños” campaign conducted by Family Care Coordinators, door-to door household census and immunization campaign helped identify families without insurance, children in need of immunizations, pregnant women needing prenatal care and families in need of social and health care services. Family Care Coordinators also provide enrollment on AHCCCS, Marketplace.

Western Arizona Area Health Education Center

A program committed to improving the development, recruitment distribution, supply, quality, utilization, and retention of health professionals in Arizona’s rural and medically underserved areas of Yuma, La Paz and Mohave Counties. WAHEC provides cultural training to health profession students participating in rotations into the border practice.

RCBH Transitional Living Housing Program TLC

The Transitional Living Care Program has been developed to assist individuals to become productive citizens and provide them with a safety net to prevent from re entering the criminal system or falling into the opioid addiction. RCBH is committed to strengthening communities by improving the lives of individuals who are ready to return to independence and to provide them with tools and confidence needed.

Community Integrated Paramedic and Preventive Care Coordination Program

The project goals is to reduce utilization of EMS for nonemergency situations, improve access to primary care and behavioral health services, reduce ED utilization to reduce hospital re admissions and reduce healthcare cost. We have partnered with Somerton and San Luis Fire Department to carry out project.
