Emma Amon

Cibola sophomore

The lowdown:

At the AIA Division I state meet, Emma became the first Cibola girls swimmer ever to place top-10 in two events at the state’s highest classification, taking seventh in the 100 breast and ninth in the 200 IM. She also swam two relays at state, and was the Most Outstanding Girls Swimmer at the Colorado River Championships. Locally, Emma’s season-best time in the 100 breast (1:06.90) was more than 10 seconds faster than anybody else’s, and her season-best time in the 200 IM (2:11.53) was more than 23 seconds faster than anybody else’s.

Coach Brad Broschat:

“Emma works hard in practice every day to bring it in every competition. Breaking school records, getting into state finals — she is the real deal.”
