CJ Wiggins

Gila Ridge junior guard

The lowdown:

After averaging just 3.4 points a game as a sophomore, CJ became a legitimate scoring threat for the Hawks this season. His 14.1 points per game was second best on the team. The junior guard scored in double figures in 15 of the 18 AIA games this year for Gila Ridge. CJ had a season-high 22 points against Buckeye in January. He also added 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.1 steals per game. CJ helped Gila Ridge reach the first round of 4A state tournament.

Coach Joe Daily:

“CJ Wiggins had an amazing junior season. His smooth left-handed shooting and athleticism to jump out of the gym helped him get rebounds and steals, which helped the Hawks big time this season. He is a smart player and a silent assassin with all of his offensive weapons. Anytime we needed a big bucket, he stepped it up big time. He has been playing hurt most of the season with a lower back pinched nerve. You would have never known it. This kid is tough and plays hard all the time.”
